The Goddard Art Studios, located at the
corner of 1st & E Street SW, is an important teaching
institution in south central Oklahoma. The studios provides
hands-on, project based art instruction taught by professionally
trained art instructors. Classes for both youth and adults are
held quarterly throughout the year in the fall, winter, spring
and summer. The Studio’s Summer Art Day Camp for children is
also a very popular summertime activity. The Ardmore Art Guild
and Monday Paint Group both meet regularly at the Art Studios
where participants learn from each other as well as from
professional workshops held throughout the year. Recently the
lobby of the Art Studios was transformed into an additional
gallery to exhibit and sell the artworks of regional artists.

This glow-in-the-dark Science art project is an experiment. I am attempting to find a fun way for children and young adults to overcome their fear of science and mathematical equations. I envision a black light gallery, tea room and ice cream parlor. This would provide a comfortable setting where the science paintings would just be background. After visiting and enjoying such a place, the artwork subjects would become familiar and therefore, less frightening.
