As Chairman of the
Membership Committee of the Goddard Center for the Visual
and Performing Arts, I welcome you to our website and thank
you for looking at us!
As you can see during your
browsing, we are offering another Season of outstanding
performances, exhibits and events at the Center. Native
American flutist John Two-Hawks, a Grammy nominated
musician, will begin our performance season. The University
of Oklahoma Chorale will kick-off the holiday season. New
Orleans artist Tracy Jarmon will exhibit his artwork which
uses oils, pastels, and mixed media. Dallas Children’s
Theater will perform the amazing stage play “Mufaro’s
Beautiful Daughter.” There are so many scheduled events!
I continue to be amazed at
the high quality arts experience that is available in
Ardmore, Oklahoma at the Goddard Center. Nationally and
internationally known artists and performers appear here to
entertain and dazzle our members and guests. Last year,
Grammy winner, guitarist Leo Kottke performed on our stage.
We were fortunate to have an unscheduled private collection
of art hang in our galleries that included works by Klee,
Degas, Cezanne and others. Jack Dowd’s “Last Call”
exhibition was installed and enjoyed by all ages. A
granite sculpture exhibit was on display
by National Medal of Arts winner Jesús Moroles, who is
currently part of Center's teaching faculty. Guitarist Edgar
Cruz performed to a packed theatre on a stormy night. And
the list goes on!
