Education Outreach Program
Year-Round Outreach
The Center was
established in 1970 with the vision of having
greater access and availability to both the visual
and performing arts for all citizens of south
central Oklahoma. In 2006, the Center’s Primary
Board of Trustees made a commitment to Art Education
and the Art Education Outreach Program was
established. The Center’s programs are developed
with an inclusive consideration of our population.
The Outreach program serves, at no cost to
participants, all area schools, senior citizens,
at-risk youth, individuals with disabilities,
minorities, daycares, as well as economically
challenged families. Since its inception, thousands
of people have participated in the opportunities
available at the Center. There have been a myriad of
Outreach activities during the past few years
including educational concerts and lectures, an
elementary integrated arts program, gallery talks,
pre-school music academy, dance instruction,
hands-on arts instruction, and Art Exhibits. The
Center formed an Outreach Advisory Committee
dedicated to the development of a broader and more
diversified Art Education Outreach Program. The
committee actively promotes the Center and the Arts,
as well as works to procure funding from grants and
local sponsorships, to support the continuation of
the Outreach Program.
