PERFORMING ARTS THEATER GENERAL: Auditorium was renovated in 2000.Theater capacity is 306. Theater has a small orchestra pit and four aisles—left side, center left, center right and right side.
Load-in is at stage level which is six inches above street level. Loading through double doors with total opening size 6 feet x 7 feet. No enclosed dock or loading lift.
The Goddard Center is non-union. Experienced light and sound technician is on contract.
DRESSING ROOMS: Dressing rooms with sinks and toilets are available for both men and women at the stage level. Green room and VIP room near dressing rooms. Dressing room doors are 26 inches wide, and one restroom is handicapped accessible.
STAGE DIMENSIONS:
Proscenium: Height:16 feet Width: 34 feet
Stage: Depth from proscenium wall to back wall—27 feet.
Depth from front of apron to back wall--33 feet.
Wing space on stage left—9 feet. Height—7 feet.
Wing space on stage right—9 feet. Height—9 feet.
Height from floor to grid—40 feet.
Trim height (floor to bottom of borders)—16 feet.
Access to dressing rooms—stage right
Location of shop and storage—stage right.
FLOOR: The stage has a smooth hardwood sprung floor mounted on a cement base. Stage flooring was replaced in 1993.
FLYING SYSTEM: Flying system is a counterweight system. 29 sets of lines, 15 of which are dedicated to lights or curtains. Maximum flying height for most pipes is 34 feet. Fly loft is stage left—9 feet above the stage floor. Fly system has been renovated as part of our 2006 Capital Improvement Project.
MASKING: The main curtain will both draw and fly. The draw rope is operated from stage right. 6 black legs are 6 feet and available on each side for masking. Overhead masking accomplished by 3 borders hung 14 feet above the floor. A black traveler is center located 6 feet from the proscenium. Another black traveler located 24 feet from the proscenium.
SOUND EQUIPMENT:
Light and sound booth located at rear of theater.
