FLY DANCE COMPANY

AQUILA THEATRE

Big Brother is watching! In the throes of unprecedented challenges to privacy, truth, and personal expression, Aquila Theatre brings “1984”, George Orwell’s cautionary novel, to the stage for the 19-20 season. As our modern world grapples with the threats and benefits of technological integration, Aquila Theatre’s production of “1984” provides a space to appreciate the value of individual thought – an evocative and timely narrative of personal freedom against political repression. Today, Orwell’s prescient story resonates around the globe as individuals, systems, and governments clash. Written in 1944 near the end of World War II, “1984” depicts a society controlled by a perfectly totalitarian government bent on repressing all subversive tendencies.

OSU OPERA
Friday, March 6th, 2020 (19-20 Season)
OSU and The Goddard Center would like to invite you and your family to come and enjoy an evening of operatic classics. OSU Opera Theatre will present opera vingettes live on The Goddard Center stage. This group of college students make opera fun and enjoyable for all ages, both opera aficionados and novices alike. The performance is directed by Steve Sanders & April Golliver-Mohiuddin.

NEW HORIZON'S ENSEMBLE
Saturday, January 18th, 2020 (19-20 Season)
Todd Mosby’s New Horizons Ensemble is a perfect blend of original acoustic instrumentals with timeless classics by Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and James Taylor. An innovative guitarist, composer & improvisor who creates an intriguing combination of new age, jazz, folk and world music, Mosby’s music is genre-defying. The ensemble has forged a refined sound which few groups achieve. The wide range of sound colors, the sheer joy in performing that musicians convey on stage and an absolutely transformational evening of music is praised by listeners time and time again.

TEXAS BOYS CHOIR

For more than 70 years, Texas Boys Choir has been instrumental in instilling a love of artistic expression and a desire to succeed in its young members. Today, Texas Center for Arts Academics is a strong voice in the North Texas arts community, and an active advocate for providing young people the means and opportunity to explore and excel in their lives. Since 1946, the mission of Texas Boys Choir has been to develop personal excellence & inspire a lifelong passion for choral artistry. Boys in grades 3-12 sing in treble, mixed, & men’s choirs under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. D. Jason Bishop.

JASON LYLE BLACK

Jason Lyle Black, an award-winning pianist, composer, and comedic entertainer, accompanied by drums and strings will perform live on The Goddard Center stage. He is known for his performance on the Ellen Show and his 30 million music video views worldwide. As a recording artist, Black has released five albums of solo piano music, including Piano Preludes, an album of original piano and string compositions from record label Stone Angel Music and producer Paul Cardall, which debuted at #1 on iTunes and #2 on the Billboard music charts.

JIGJAM
Thursday, October 3rd, 2019 (19-20 Season)
JigJam is a multi-award winning quartet from the heart of the midlands in Ireland. Blending the best of traditional Irish music with Bluegrass and Americana in a new genre which has been branded as ‘I-Grass’ (Irish influenced Bluegrass), their onstage energy along with their virtuosic musical ability has captivated audiences throughout the world. They have now developed their own unique style of music influenced by American Folk music whilst staying true to their Irish roots. Described as ‘The best Irish group so far in bluegrass’, this sharply dressed outfit delivers an energy-fuelled, foot-stomping live performance. All multi-instrumentalists, JigJam interchange between banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolins and double bass onstage, which creates an experience which is pleasing to both the eye and the ear.

TUSK (FLEETWOOD MAC TRIBUTE BAND)
Friday, August 16th & Saturday, August 17th, 2019 (19-20 Season)
Tusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. The five seasoned, well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in cover bands, for over twenty-five years. It seemed only fitting that they should come together to form the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute, and pay homage to a group that dominated the charts during the band members’ formative years.
